Technical details: This wine was picked by hand, then sorted by hand and fermented in thermo-controlled stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts. 50% of the wine matured in oak barrels (2-5 years old) and 50% fermented in stainless steel vats.
Style: Rouge de Carsin is a fruity wine made with mostly Merlot, a classical Bordeaux variety. This wine has lots of ripe red berry aromas such as black berries and ripe cherries, some gentle spicyness and gentle toast aromas as well. The wine is well structured with mellow tannins and a long finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings a nice spicy touch and the Cabernet Franc some additional structure to this blend. Rouge de Carsin is a well balanced and elegant wine for every day consumption, for any time, any occasion! Rouge de Carsin is ready to be opened now, but it develops and can be kept in cellar for at least 5 to 10 years.

It can be opened on any day of the week and it can be consumed with food or without and with alone or in company. We consider that all of Chateau Carsin's wines are at their best when consumed with friends and good food.
