Grape variety: Merlot 40%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Carmenere 12%, Cabernet Sauvignon 8%, Malbec 5% & Petit Verdot 5%
AOC/IGP: AOC Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux
Alcohol: 14,5%
Residual sugar: 0 g/l
Technical details:
The grapes were picked by hand, sorted by hand in the reception cellar and then fermented naturally in thermo-controlled stainless steel tanks and open top vats. The wine matured in French oak barrels (2 to 5 years-old) for 12 months before bottling.

Style: This is a full-bodied and deep red wine. It has notes of plum, cassis, toast and gentle smokiness on the nose. The wine is rich with hints of ripe red berries, even coffee and leather aromas. Merlot brings the fruit to the wine, Malbec gives acidity, Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon bring the structure and tannins while Petit Verdot and Carmenere bring the spicyness.

Recommendation: This wine is one of the best known cuvées of Chateau Carsin. It's always a blend of 6 varieties; all of which are allowed in Bordeaux red wine production. It's a great combination for grilled entrecôte, bbq food and casseroles. Also very good when served with Comté cheese or other matured hard cheeses. The wine is ready to be consumed, but can benefit from a few years of ageing in the cellar (up to 10 - 15 years).

The wine is sold in 75cl bottles.
